Black Desert Online: Major Updates Coming June 2025
Sat May 03 2025
Pearl Abyss is rolling out significant changes to Black Desert Online this June, impacting both gameplay and platform support.
Platform Transition: Ending Support for PS4 and Xbox One
As of June 26, 2025, Black Desert Online will cease support for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Players still on these consoles will need to migrate to PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S. Progress can be transferred to newer platforms, ensuring a smooth transition without losing characters or items.
This marks a major shift for the game, effectively phasing out two console generations and refocusing development on modern hardware.
New Features: Carrack Auto-Fishing and Weekly Fishing Contest
The April 30 patch introduced Carrack Auto-Fishing, allowing adventurers to equip their Carrack ships with fishing rods and passively gather fish while sailing.
Also added: a Permanent Weekly Fishing Contest. Compete for top-tier rewards by catching specific fish during set windows — a welcome change for life skill fans seeking more structured progression.
Class Balance Adjustments
PvE class performance continues to be a major focus. The April 24 update delivered buffs to underperforming classes in grinding zones. These tweaks improve skill damage, animation speeds, and stamina usage — making once-ignored classes feel viable again.

Life Skill Improvements and UI Streamlining
Life Skill players saw several quality-of-life boosts: such as a unified UI for all active buffs, furniture buffs now persist through server change, and simplified stat visibility for alchemy and cooking tools
These tweaks aim to reduce friction for veteran lifeskillers while making systems clearer for newcomers.
Black Desert Online continues to evolve with high-impact updates and thoughtful system refinements. With next-gen focus and new gameplay incentives, June is shaping up to be a big month for returning adventurers.
